Crochet Care Guide
Thoughtful care helps handmade crochet clothing, toys and accessories retain their shape and finish.
- Check the product-specific care instructions first.
- Hand wash gently in cool water with a mild detergent unless stated otherwise.
- Do not wring, twist or bleach.
- Reshape while damp and dry flat away from direct sunlight.
- Store clothing folded rather than on a hanger to reduce stretching.
- Keep toys and decorative pieces away from sharp objects and open flames.

At a glance
Hand wash
Wash gently by hand with a mild detergent — never in a machine.
Cool water
Cool water only. Warm water relaxes cotton stitches out of shape.
Do not wring
No wringing, twisting or bleaching. Press the water out between two towels.
Dry flat
Reshape while damp and dry flat, so the piece keeps the shape it was made in.
Out of the sun
Dry in the shade. Direct sunlight fades dyed cotton.
Store folded
Fold clothing rather than hanging it — a hanger stretches crochet.
Away from flame
Keep toys and decorative pieces away from sharp objects and open flames.
The same seven symbols appear on every product page, and product-specific instructions always take precedence over these. Unsure about a particular yarn? Ask before you wash it. Browse the collection or read the size guide.
